Gold Leaf & Silver Leaf gilded glass

Decorative glass panel hand painted in reverse using 23k gold leaf and silver leaf water gilding techniques. A paper layout was firstly hand drawn and applied to the opposite side of the glass, before hand painting all of the outlines in reverse. Once dry, colour was added before the application of gold leaf and silver leaf using traditional water gilding. The breasts of the birds were blended with an airbrush before an application of translucent milk white finished it off.
